One barrier to outdoor activities like walking, hiking etc for lower amputees is the ability to sense changes in their surrounding. The ability to feel minute and sudden changes and react accordingly is crucial when navigating variable terrains.

Haptic insole will sense changes in the terrain, surface stability and will provide real time haptic feedback to the wearer via a band worn on thighs.
